When I need to lift one of the rigs for some repair or remove the skids for a deep cleaning. If I can't do the work in my shop I use this hack. I through together this one last spring. Had a 2x10 around 10ft long should have cut it off. Really only needs to be 8ft. Any chunk for the base only need to keep it from tipping sideways.
Tighten the gas cap.
To use it hook the winch rope to the top with a bolt drilled through or ?? I have a bent 1/4" steel bracket from ??. Stand it up close to the rig. Tight the winch a bit so it won't fall over.
Tie a rope or rachet to the base and to the trailer hitch under the rig. This keeps the bottom from kicking out.
Now just run it up with the winch with the machine in park. I highly recommended a winch remote.
When the rig is close to the tipping point I push it back on to the back rack.
Put the machine in neutral and control the roll with the rear brake when lowering.
