Found the battery drain...

Turns out that even though the winch came with a relay to prevent the draining of the battery, it was the culprit. Unplugged it two months ago and it has not lost any battery power since. I plan on making the connection whenever I know I will need the winch and then unplugging it afterwards {[I don't use it much]. I thought about rewiring it, but decided against it since the winch has only been used once since December 2019.

Is the relay on all the time? Who installed it? It should be ran through the key on/off switch.

I put it in myself. Wired it directly as I do not know how to run it through the key switch. Maybe that's why it drained the battery. I cannot read electrical schematics, those are written for electricians, not carpenters [haha]. I have to have visual photos or simpler drawings to wire things.

There is a pigtail that you can purchase from Yamaha or Partzilla that will allow you to connect it through the key on switch.

Here is the part.

And here is the thread that talks about installing one with a few pictures.
