Earlier this month, Yamaha announced their 2017 line of ATVs and Side-by-Side vehicles and on that list are new models along with new special editions and options. These new models will be added to Yamaha’s already impressive list of vehicles and in an effort to maintain their reliability standards across the board, all of Yamaha’s SxS vehicles and full-size ATVs will be assembled at their factory in Newnan, Georgia.

2017 YXZ1000R-SS (Sport Shift) And YXZ1000R-SS SE
The YXZ1000R is Yamaha’s fits pure sport SxS and they’re expanding this segment with two new models. They’ll still have the same 3-cylinder 998cc engine but the new SS model comes with Yamaha’s new Sport Shift technology, a 5-speed sequential shift manual transmission that removes the need for a clutch pedal and drivers won’t have to take their foot off the gas during shifting. An YXZ1000R-SS SE (special edition) version is on the way too with a matte black paint scheme.

2017 Wolverine and Wolverine R-Spec
Opposite of the YXZ is the Wolverine SE which is supposed to be Yamaha’s most off-road capable side by side. The SE model will come in Matte Silver and the color continues onto the high back bucket seats and springs, underseat storage, overfenders, full set of aluminum skid plates, aluminum a-arm guards, 12-inch bead lock wheels and a soft grip steering wheel. Even if you don’t go with the SE model, you’ll still be getting their Electric Power Steering (EPS) in all 2017 R-Spec models, paired with a 708cc engine and you’ve got a machine with optimized torque and power delivery.

2017 Viking And Viking VI
A two seater is great if there’s only two people but if you have that one friend who always wants to tag along, then the 3 seater Viking may be perfect for you. Sporting a 686cc liquid-cooled engine, the Viking will have strong low-end acceleration, perfect for hauling three passengers comfortably. The ride will be smooth too with noise and vibration reduction features including their new rubber damper plates.
If there’s more than 3 riders, than the Viking VI may be the better option since it is capable of seating 6 passengers. The premium Ranch Edition Viking VI will be painted Copper Metallic with a matching interior and soft sun top, front brush guard and more.

2017 Grizzly EPS SE
The Grizzly will still have a 708cc engine, what’s new are the new paints and designs. 2017 is when we’ll be seeing a Matte Silver Grizzly SE with aluminum wheels and painted plastics with special graphics, an Alpine White model and a Steel Blue model, both with aluminum wheels. All models will be equipped with electric power steering. Also, the Grizzly seems to be the only model for 2017 that’s getting a limited edition version which features Crimson Metallic paint, graphics, aluminum wheels, removable fairing with windscreen, heated grips and seats, and thumb warmer.

2017 Kodiak 700 EPS SE
For the 2017 model year, Yamaha is releasing a new Midnight Blue Metallic Kodiak SE with matching wheels and the On-Command four-wheel drive system, a Steel Blue model with aluminum wheels, Hunter Green version, Red and Realtree Xtra models. They will all come with a 708cc engine and fully automatic transmission.

2017 YFZ50 And Raptor 90
If you have a child and want to start them early with ATVs, then these two models should help them practice clutch and throttle control. These two models were designed for riders age 6 and up. The YFZ50 has a 49.4cc air-cooled engine and it comes with parental controls including adjustable RPM and throttle limiters. If needed, the ATV comes with a tether switch in the form of a pull string that parents can use to turn off the engine. For riders age 10 and up, there is the slightly more powerful Raptor 90 with an 89.9cc air-cooled engine.

2017 Raptor and YFZ450R
Last but certainly not least, is the Raptor 700R and YFZ450R, both sitting as the highest performing sport ATV models. For 2017, the Raptor 700 will be getting 3 new colors. There’s Blaze Orange, Team Yamaha Blue / White with matching seats, a-arms and frame, and a special edition version that comes in Grey Metallic with additional GYTR front grab bar and heel guards.
As for the YFZ450R, it’ll be getting a new SE model with black Metallic paint and GYTR front grab bar. Like the Raptor, the YFZ450R will come with a Team Yamaha Blue / White version with matching seats, a-arms and frame.
