I have heard that a few times. I suppose it works the same. Somewhere I read it might be a little noisier.
As an engineer, I’m sticking with grease. Noise = wear
Zero wear.
Hardly any noise difference.
If you search on these forums, there's actually a few pics of more wear with grease due to someone not servicing properly and the grease has gathered so much dirt it started to scuff up the roller weight channels.

After getting inside of it and seeing how it’s put together, I can believe that. It really needs some mild dust filter on the air vent. So... to grease, or not to grease... that is the question! :)

Oh yeah, my kodiak has less than 600km on it when I put in grizzly weights and machined sheave. I was amazed at how dirty the grease was already. I was given the option of trying greaseless, so I did. Couldn't be happier. Maintenance is so much easier, cleaner and faster now

Update..
Put in 1.5mm shim and 20g weights. Can tell a good difference on take off. I usually don't go over 40-45mph,so don't know if top speed has suffered. Still on stock tires for now.
Thank you all for the info and responses.

Since you went with shims, your top speed definitely took a small hit. That's the nature of the beast. Very little hit though. These aren't meant to be top fuel dragsters lol. I've maxed mine out on the main road going through town a few times and I can say that traveling over 107 km an hour on a Kodiak is a bit scary. Definitely don't need top speed, that extra low-end grunt is where it's at.
Did you end up going with Greece or greaseless?
