Here in South Carolina, we got about 7” of wet sleet / snow. Drifts are knee high by my house! Not really going out much, but I did take the Kodi out for a rip! First time having snow to ride in! What a blast! I went all over the neighborhood and rode some power lines. It’s pretty residential, so no woods or trails… but I had fun! Probably the longest I have ever driven in 4x4 too. The Reptiles did pretty good. It’s slippery as snot, so manage the expectations… my truck actually did better with KO2’s, but it weighs 4000 lbs more. And like usual… I forgot to take pictures!!! Ahhhh!!!

I took my Kodiak out to Penrose Commons trail system yesterday and the scenery is amazing. It's very close to Canyon City, CO. The Kodiak performed perfectly as did the Tusk Mudforce tires. These tires have been great. My only complaint for them was that the tread started showing signs of wear after only a couple hundred miles but now I have over a thousand miles and the tread is still good.
My Kodiak didn't want to stay running when I first started it. That's the first time that's happened to me. I hadn't started it in a couple of months and the temps were recently around 0 degrees but it was 38 degrees when I was trying to start it. It acted like it needed a choke. I kept control of the throttle until it was around 80 degrees then it would idle.
I was a little concerned about riding here by myself but I didn't have any problems. The last hill in the video was the hairiest and I was in high gear. I love the 700.

Changed the oi and filter. Shell rotella T6 5w40 and a wix 57040 filter. Changed the front diff oil and rear final drive fluid. Used Lucas 80w90 in front because I had it on hand. Used Petrocan duratran in the rear. It meets same specs as mobilfluid 424 and I was gifted a couple of gallons of it.
Going to take off the racks next weekend and redo them with a rattle can of liquid bed liner. The factory finish on the racks is paper thin and rubs off easily.

Re- coating the racks is on my todo list, I buy the gallon pail of the rust-oleum bed liner. I use it on a bunch of stuff and projects .

Last time I was out riding after dusk, I found the lights were okay at best? There still is a lot of us hoping that one day drop in LED lights will be available for our kodiaks? Here's hoping.......
So for the interim, approx $50 cdn a Nilight 12 led 7" 36watt bar, 1 3/4"Bull Bar Tube Clamps and Handle bar switch.
Someone on the forum(Nomad?) mentioned that the 1 3/4" bull bar is exactly that with no clearance to spare! It's true, brackets came with foam liners to help clamp to bumper; impossible to fit!
I was able to tap off an existing switched relayed output as unit only draws 3 amps max and just used an inline fuse for safety sake.
I also put a small bead of RTV silicone where the glass meets the aluminum to make it a little more water resistant? And poor mans locktite on most of the hardware(I couldn't find the real stuff) lol.

BTW the pictures don't show the wiring done, only the mounting of the clamps and lights. I routed 18/2 with HeatShrink near top right of the radiator guard to switch and fuse line.

Thanks
Brian

Today is a VERY special day for my 2021 Kodiak 700 EPS SE! She climbed Mt. Washington along leading the pack with my old Rancher 4x4 ES. Both have climbed it together for their first time.

I have the same box mounted on my rear rack but mounted reverse of what you did, so it opens to the rear. I sometimes wish the box was maybe a little bit wider but also like the fact that it is smaller and doesn't get in the way. It's been a good box though, just not dust or water proof. I keep all of my stuff in a wet/dry bag inside the box which solves the not dust/water proof part.

Same here, I was worried about a larger box getting damaged. Sprayed it with the garden hose….definitely not water proof.

Installed the Ricochet skid plates. The front plate isn’t compatible with a winch so I had to modify it.

The plate is still touching the winch mounting bolt. I will notch it and touch it up with some spray paint.

Looks good, however if it isn't comparable with the winch without notching and doing some other work on it if you have a front mount snow plow attachment.

That's interesting. Never paid much attention to a wheeler with a plow. some years we hardly get any snow at all.

Went out for the third time today and got her to about 70 miles on the odometer. Thought the engine was running a lot hotter than the other times I went riding. The fuel tank overflow hose coming down the rear of the chassis had fuel dripping out of it. I assume it was from the tank being hot. The fuel tank was hot to the touch. Anyone else have this happen?
