Noticed a small trace of oil around the valve cover gasket”just on the left side. Could be from being pretty cold outside and gasket is shrunk up. Then expands once warmed up. Anyone else experience this. Maybe around 300 hours on this machine .
Did you have it serviced by a dealership?
They may not have replaced the gasket, or torqued the bolts down properly.
Generally if it leaks you need to replace it.
When you replace it use new razor blade, brake cleaner, paper towels, and Qtips to clean out all the holes.
When you reassemble it use a drop of medium loctite and torque the cleaned tiny bolts properly.
It should never leak again.
Always use an original gasket, or a Felpro gasket as an alternative if available.
While you have it opened up might be a good time to check the valve gap.
I think that if I went in far enough to tighten up the bolts I would just do the gasket also. And while it was apart I would check the valve clearances.
