I read a few other posts but couldn’t really find the answer in wanted. I have a 2019 Kodak 700 base and am getting ready to change the oil but wanna make sure I have the right size. I got a Wix 57040 filter, is this the right size for the 686 cc? The main reason I am asking is because the filter is about 2/3 the size of the Yamaha one. I read that they sell a long filter too, would it be worth it to get that one?
Also I did some research about some good oil, I’m gonna use Rotella T6 5w-40. Gonna do the diff fluid , front and rear with royal purple 70w-90.
not really trying to start any debates about the best oil or anything like that I just wanna make sure the stuff I got won’t hurt my machine.
thanks

57040 wix oil filter, it was same size as the yamaha filter, but allows more flow, access a higher burst psi.
can also use wix 51365xp

5w40 T6 is great oil.

As for diff fluid, just make sure it has friction modifiers. The kodiak has a wet rear brake similar to the clutch pack in a limited slip diff.

Royal Purple is a good fluid and should have the friction modifier in it. Check the specs on it and make sure that it is rated GL4 or GL5 and you should be fine. You can just use regular diff fluid in the front end, no sense in putting the expensive stuff in unless you want to

For the oil filter I just use the Wix 57040 and Valvoline oil, after a year it comes out looking just like it did when it went in.

Cross reference your factory filter number on wix website. If the longer one matches, use it. I cut open a Yamaha fiilter recently. It is obvious, they are farmed out to the lowest bidder which I believe is Denso. It's wix or Napa for me from now on.
