My new winch arrived in the mail today. The contacter rattles like something is loose inside. I don't want to open it up and possibly void the warranty.
I've emailed Warn and waiting to see if they make it good.
Anyone else notice the same with theirs?

Are they asking for the old one back? If not take it apart and tell us what is wrong!

The new contactor rattles too. I opened the original, and it looks like two solenoids in there. Nothing loose that I can see.. Its got to be the solenoids, or relays,,,whatever they are.
When it's not 95 degrees, I'll install this new one and see what happens.

If you shake it before you install it you are going to hear a rattle, it just happens due to what a contactor/relay is and how it is built. It isn't solid state but mechanical with a few loose parts that open and close to make contact and allow a heavy amperage currant to pass through it.
