Another new owner here just traded in a snowmobile for a new Kodiak. Tired of bogus winters. I'll get pics up soon. I'm a bike/sled tech so all my maintenance will be self help. Jay.

Welcome to the forum Jay and congratulations on the new Kodiak. It always great to have a tech hanging around on the forum.
Where about in Maine? I'm in the Midcoast. Got another used sled this year and have only used it once. Crap winter. Picked up my new Kodiak SE back in January. Love it!
Welcome to the club.

Have you started thinking though what modifications and accessories you want to get for your Kodiak?

I live near Bangor. I lived my teens wrenching and racing bikes, then worked at a Honda/Kawasaki dealer in the late 70's early 80's. I mostly have been working on sleds the last 15 years as a hobby and building asphalt drag sleds in the past. I'm retiring from the military, so its time to gather up any extra toys I want for the near future hence the new quad. I also just picked up a pristine TRX300.

I plan on pulling the clutches and having the sheaves balanced, then I'm going to throw in some lighter weights. There is a lot of power to be had in there. Yamaha is hiding it with 30 gram weights which is understandable with the target audience for this bike. Long term I might look into a Power Commander V. We will see.
Don't need them this winter. Very little snow in Maine. This is why I just traded my sled in for a Kodi. Those look like a nice setup though.

I might get it for some property my family has up in upper Saskatchewan
A pic of my trusty steeds. The Honda is a 1997 TRX300.

I hope that TRX300 wore some good coatings of mud over its years in service :D
