Hi all.
Long time Yamaha rider, first time Kodiak owner.
Picked up a 2019 700 SE today in tactical black 130 miles.
Haven't been out for a ride yet.
I noticed when I was buying it, the fit and finish of the headlight surround doesn't fit right. It wont stay clipped at the top.
Anyone else notice this on their Kodiak?
These has been a plug installed for a battery charger that was tie wrapped to the front rack. Maybe whoever installed that didn't get things reassembled correctly. I'll dig into more later.

Welcome to the forum. Mine has the same issue, and you actually just reminded me to look into this. I'm sure there is a simple fix for it.
I took mine off and it looks like the brake cables aren't allowing the headlight surround to meet up with the gauge cluster. Also found a spring, taped to a nut, and a screw that goes through the lower headlight surround. This doesn't look factory, and fits like ****.
someones been dickin with it for sure. not normal
Here is the screw and the spring that was in the lower center hole of the handlebar mounted headlight surround. The push pins that are located on each side of the headlight surround will not fit in the lowest center hole.
Has anyone has their headlight surround off of the bike and found this screw/spring in the lower hole?

Here's a picture of the headlight assembly. That is quite possibly the headlight adjustment parts 17, 18, 19, and 20

Thanks Jim!

Just checked. I found the same screw/spring/plastic nut used to install the headlights in the fender. A perfect fit for them.
I'll try to get those pieces installed again.
I still have the brake cables interfering. Holesaw on the ready to make a perfect half circle cuts.....but not yet.
If you have questions on how things go together I have found that the online parts houses have pretty good diagrams on their parts list.

I pulled that one off of Partzilla.com

Thanks again Jim. I've bookmarked Partzilla.
I already see one problem with the way the assembly was.
Cheers!
Just be aware of these parts houses is that they will kill you on the cost of shipping if you order something from them.

I only use them when I have to.
