I noticed on my 2017 700se that when I engage the locking differential the steering becomes noticeable stiffer. I am on 29.5” tires with 2” lift. Any thoughts are appreciated.

Yes Vincent has that correct, and a good thing to know is, don't try to turn on pavement or anywhere you have good traction when you have the differential locked. That will be very hard on your tires and it is not good for your drive train.
