I've been looking into making a home made snorkel set up for my '16 Kodiak. I've got it figured out for the most part, however i'm concerned about the intake piping size being too small. My intention is to use pool/spa vacuum hose for the section of it that can't easily be done with solid pvc but the largest i can find at any of the local hardware stores is 1.5" I.D. I measured the intake pipe from the air filter to the engine and it's got an inside diameter of about 1.75".

So my question is, will using the 1.5" I.D. hose "choke" it under heavy load or high rpm or should it be sufficient? I looked at some pictures of what other people have used and it appears to be the same 1.5" I.D., 2" O.D. vacuum hose but i couldn't find anybody that posted specs with the hose/piping size. Any input would be greatly appreciated.

Try Summit Racing for larger flexible hose, otherwise any auto parts store should handle it.
