Hello all! I joined a few weeks ago to ask about a used kodiak and got some great feedback. After much debate I decided to pull the trigger on a new Kodiak 700 EPS SE and picked it up tonight. Can’t wait to break it in a get riding around Michigan this summer! Looking forward learning from the community.

just curious, was anyone else slightly terrified the first time they rode up ramps onto their truck, or was that just me? Haha

Perfectly normal!
Years ago when I got my first 4 Wheeler going up steep hills scared me. There were some where I hunted elk at that I would strap my trucks spare tire on the front rack and then lean as far over the bars as I could. I'd then shift to low gear and low range to go up them.

Now days I just shift into 4x4 and head up them. But when I load my Kodiak up on top of my truck bedrails I'll stand up so that I can see just where the tires are at on the ramps.

Just a suggestion for when you load it into a truck bed using ramps is to put it into 4x4 to load.

Congrats on the Kodiak you are going to love it

Congratulations on the new kodiak! Welcome to the forum.
Congrats on the new wheels , I’ve never liked loading atv’s in a truck bed . Unless I had a long set of ramps . I load both mine onto a trailer, and definitely nowhere near as steep .
Welcome!! And yes… that 1st time loading is a bit sketchy. But it’s good training for the trails!

Watch going into the truck bed. Quite a few back windows smashed in. One guy I met hit two in a month on a power rear window. Made for an expensive ride.
Always put your ATV into 4 wheel drive when you are driving up ramps into your truck. I have seen many videos where the machine was in 2 wheel. Once the front wheels are in the truck, the rear wheels can kick one or both ramps out, dumping the machine and the rider straight to the ground. The ATV can easily land on top of you in that scenario.

If you place a pull or ratchet strap on each ramp and attach the other ends to the bumper or some other good point under the rear of the truck then you won't ever kick out the ramps. I stand up most of the time, but it's not needed. Just try to go a slow and steady pace up the ramp without stopping half way up.
Long Ramps makes the best ones I've seen. They are seriously overbuilt, and they are a little expensive.
