Cargo Box

Just picked up the Premier Plastics version of the front cargo box. Size and quality seem decent.

My original intent was to mount it on the front but it sits a little high for my liking. Also it will limit access to removal of the front rack, hence limiting access to the battery.

It fits the rear rack nicely so Im going to mount it there.

Would be awesome if you could post a pic.
I like that it comes with wingnuts for attachment. Removeable in the field without tools.
Great how it's perfectly curved into a back rest and you don't want that in the front potentially blocking your headlight.
Got to love that seal around the box, sure to keep the inside dry and well away from the elements unless of course the box was to crack or the seal break for some reason.
Anyone else mount a box?

Any quick release mechanisms that i should look at?
Don't think anyone has mounted a box yet except for you. @Fisherhawk has mounted some but he hasn't been on in a while.
I am very happy with the fit of the Premier Plastics box on the Rear Rack.

Now I just need to figure out how Im going to divide it. Might just pad the bottom with foam.

Where do you think you'll get the foam from?
I have a small sheet of 1" thick black foam. I got it from The Woodworkers Club in Rockville, MD.
I am interested in pics of anyone using the Yamaha Accessory Cargo boxes. Post pics if you got em!!!

Just a funny bit to add here. I went and test rode a Kodiak 700 at the dealer, and the dummies bolted the FRONT Yamaha Cargo Box on the rear rack! I was crackin up. At first I was like this box doesnt fit the rack very well and wastes a bunch of rack space, then I realized it was the front box bolted on the rear rack. At least they were gonna "throw it in for free" at 10k OTD price.....LOL.......Reason number 1,457 you NEVER use the dealer for ANYTHING!

The dealer I plan on buying mine from doesnt have the OEM cargo boxes on hand. I gotta have cargo boxes, cuz I leave all cold weather gear, dry clothes, fire starting equipment, tow straps, and canned snack food in my ATV. I usually use soft bags, but this time I want a factory fit hard bag for a more weather resistant storage option.
I just drove 200 miles with my Kodiak in the bed of my truck, Premier Plastics box mounted on the rear rack. It rained the entire trip. At times it came down hard.

Checked the contents when I got home.......bone dry.

I wouldnt discount the rear rack position. The front blocks too much headlight.
