I know the new kodiak only gives locking diff and eps on se model. Now would you pay that or go for a new 2014 grizzly with those features at a lower price? 2016 kodiak 700 se is $8900 and I've seen 2014 grizzly's from $7600-8k. I'm not looking for a beast like the new 2016 grizzly is,but rather a good machine for hunting but must be able to get through steep and rocky terrain. This is why I'd want the diff lock option.

what are your thoughts?

The Grizzly is a very good machine. If it was me and I wanted the diff. lock, I would seriously consider the 14 Grizzly over the Kodiak 700 se if I could save that kind of money.
Yup, Grizzly guys could definitely vouch for that, might as well explain the same situation to them, surely there will be a portion of them that once looked into Kodiak as of recent or been following developments.

Hi. kinda ran in to the same thing when I was looking. just remember after you buy a '14 model it becomes a low mileage 2yr. old bike and looses value faster. if you keep it for a long time no biggie, just something to remember. for the record I went with the 2016 Kodiak eps. picked it up 3days ago. very exited to get more seat time.

I kicked around the idea of a leftover grizzly over the Kodiak SE but I liked the fact the kodiak has the new engine, third headlight and would be a brand new machine over on that is a year or two old leftover. I feel I got a good deal and got all the goodies on the SE that the grizzly has for alot less money than a brand new grizzly. I don't see myself missing the extra pep a grizz would have and if i do I will just do the clutch weight mod. just my 2 pennies!

501 parts makes a cable actuated 4x4 diff lock. I bought one 5 months ago and have loved it, to can def tell when it's in 4x4 limited slip and in diff lock. Install is a bit rough if you're not mechanically inclined or have someone to help or to do it but, I did mine in a few hours, (took my time, plus kids were here) and loved it every since.
