Located at the front right side next to the main ignition switch is the Auxiliary DC jack.

Usage goes as follows (from Yamaha):

The auxiliary DC jack is located at the front rightside of the ATV. The auxiliary DC jack can be usedfor suitable work lights, radios, etc. The auxiliaryDC jack should only be used when the engine is running.

1. Set the light switch to "OFF".
2. Start the engine. (See page 6-1.)
3. Open the auxiliary DC jack cap, and then in-sert the accessory power plug into the jack.

Since the Grizzly has been out for some time already there's a chance that wiring diagram (if available) will give some direction here with the Kodiak.

It might give an idea of how Yamaha wires their systems but it won't give any direct insight into working with the Kodiak unfortunately...

I just hooked my GPS power source up to the DC adaptor, works like a charm. Ran the ground directly to the battery post.
