Hello, I have been digging around the internet trying to find some touch up paint or pens for my 2021 Kodiak in orange to try and keep the paint looking as good as new once she starts hitting the trails and to hide some of the scratches with after riding. I have contacted Yamaha with no luck there.

Isn't that color molded into the plastics?

I have to admit that I have never worried about touching up my ATV's

Find a place under a piece of plastic and scratch it to see.

I think that the camo ones have a graphic on them, but I could be wrong

Camo is graphics, EPS and regular are molded and the SE's are painted, found paint rolls on the body.

If you can find a paint code a local auto paint store can mix a match

This is correct. The only problem is most automotive paint suppliers can "match" the color of you take them asample such as a body panel, but the paint used on our SE isn't automotive paint, it's industrial grade, such as paint used on heavy equipment like loaders and bulldozers. It's a much tougher paint, it adhears to plastic well, harder to scratch, flexes very well and extremely fade resistant under uv light. It's asingle stage paint, no clear over it.
Automotive paint just isn't as tough as won't hold up as well in the atv environment.

I washed my Kodiak the other day and one panel is beginning to flake paint off by the head light, its very small but i know it will only get worse. Is this something I might be able to get fixed through Yamaha?

You just need to talk to your dealer.

If it is the case you might expect to have other problems with the paint in the future. It could be something as simple as a bad prep work or something as bad as a problem with the makeup of the paint.

Exactly as jim said, talk to your dealer.

This paint is super tough, I'm thinking maybe a little mold release agent was still on the plastic prior to paint, or as Jim said, possibly issue with the batch of paint itself.

Anyone know what can cause powder coat on the racks peel off from strapping it down?
I have my doubts if the racks are actually done in powder, the durability of the finish just screams paint to me. Super weak.

A few members have removed them and coated them with truck bed coat. However, I'd wager that even a rubber coated hook will remove it over time.. Unless it's the professional stuff like linex or rhino lining.

If you place straps with anything on the ends of them they will remove whatever you have on the racks as far as paint or powder coating. It is no different than taking a screwdriver and grinding it into the material, sooner than later it will cut through and once the steel is exposed you will see rust..

I don't think that even a professional type of coating would stand up to it. The nice thing with a DIY coating is that once a year you can do some touch up on it or whenever you see it breaking through the coating.

As you drive, vibrations are causing everything to just sit there and wiggle. Ive just decided to not worry. If a bit of rust tries to form there in that spot, the next time you strap it down it will rub it back off.
