Air filter upgrade

I finally got around to changing from the factory foam air filter to a NAPA gold #6449. The original thread was posted as using a 1 1/2" PVC connector, but this was too large and had get a 1 1/4" PVC connector. I greased both ends of the connector and put them together and they fit like they were made for the machine. I had to grind the center tab off the inside of the air box lid but after doing this the lid fit on like it was supposed to. I couldn't find the original thread for this conversion, but wanted to thank him for this tip.:smile2:

Here is the original thread with more info on air filter replacements: http://www.kodiakowners.com/forum/106-yamaha-kodiak-700-general-discussion/4058-air-filter-fix.html

The filter I use has a plastic neck that fits right into the air intake piece and does not need anything adjusted on the housing cover.
