Well I decided to DIY a larger exhaust tip, I went with a 1.25 pipe as I wanted a bit more flow but didn’t want to increase the noise a bunch . 1/8 piece of sheet metal from a old road sign and a conduit elbow from Home Depot for $10 . I sandblasted the sheet metal at work and built / welded everything up at home . I’m going to take it back in to work and sandblast the tip , then prime and paint with VHT exhaust black .
Since had the exhaust off and apart I drilled an extra hole in my muffler baffle for a bit more flow ( may go larger latter ) and decided to add a A/F gauge so I can set my tunner for Stoich 14:7.1 so I’m not guessing . I have some DIY ideas to Increase my air box lid flow , but not allow any possibility of extra water getting in for the future .

Which A/F R meter did you end up installing? I really like having one installed so I know what burn ratio I'm running full-time, where I ride and how I ride. I have since unplugged my aftermarket FI tuner as I found it is not needed where I ride. I did leave it in place in the event I end up wanting to reconnect it because I'm riding somewhere in a much lower elevation than where I live and usually ride and if I see my A/F readings jump up into a dangerously lean area.

I'm actually going on an ATV trip soon where I'll be riding at 3000-4000 feet elevation and if I find the readings on my wideband never show any dangerously lean conditions, I'm going to completely remove the FI tuner and sell it. For me at least, I've not seen results of the 2014+ 686cc engine actually running lean where it has become the general consensus that the current 686 runs lean. I have no experience with the 708cc and can't comment on that. I do need to note that I'm running OEM exhaust with the exception of an OEM header pipe that I had an O2 sensor bung Tig welded to it and then that OEM pipe ceramic coated.

Well I’m not 100% sure, a coworker gave it to me . I think it’s a UEGO or something. Not a high dollar unit , I’m only running it to set the parameter's on my fuel programmer and then I’ll pull it and put a plug in the bung. With all my exhaust mods and now my intake lid mod that I’m going to try I didn’t want to guess anymore . And yes I’m running a 708 Yamaru engine .

Run it and make a decision for you but consider leaving it installed.
