Not likely the spark plug, you need to figure out if it is fuel or spark related. Some more info is required, does it ever run for long periods of time, or does it shut down always in a minute or less? As far as the start button, make sure you are in neutral or park when you are pressing the start button. Play with that shifter location a bit when it does not start, and see if that affects it at all.

Premium fuel is not needed as the 686cc engine is a low compression engine although premium pump fuel should not hurt it either. The Yamaha manual states 91 RON fuel which is not a north American octane standard. 91 RON is equivalent to north American 87 octane fuel. I am able to source 87 octane non-ethanol fuel and that is typically what I run but for other reasons than stalling. It is also nice to not have ethanol in the fuel during the winter if we aren't getting consistent snowfall where my ATV is being consistently run for plowing. I have run NA 91 octane fuel in her and have experienced no benefit from doing so.

Fouled spark plugs have been something that is brought up fairly frequently on these Kodiak/Grizzly ATV forums. Why some get fouled plugs easier than others is not really known but since they are so cheap, it doesn't hurt to have 1 or 2 extras around. But changing the plug first when having starting/stalling issues is a good first step, however, don't over-pay a shop to do that. Changing the plug on the 686cc is VERY easy.

I had stalling issues on my current 2014 Grizzly 700 with it having ~ 300 miles on her. I adjusted the exhaust valve lash and rarely have an issue stalling now. Unrelated, I also haven't had a need to change my plug for about 3000 miles.

I guess plug and starter solenoid, on my 4th solenoid in 500 hrs. Sounds kind of like what I experienced several times. Tried OEM just buy Ebay ones now $10 or less. Look at the picture of thier poles and match the coper to your OEM. Got one that was backwards once.

My new 2023 does the same thing, but I blame it on he cold weather here in Michigan. It isn't even broke in yet either.
