So I've heard of some kodiak 700s have problems with the air filter. Are 2019 experiencing the same problem with dirt getting in and if so why haven't the been fixed with the 2019 if older ones showed this problem?
As far as I know, they haven't changed anything. Yamaha obviously doesn't think there is an issue. I always used white grease on the snout of my stock filter and it never allowed dust to pass by. I have since upgraded to a uni filter with a better mounting set up.
Grease or oil the donut on the end and wedge something behind the filter to keep pressure forward on it for a tite seal, it will be fine. I have a small block of wood cut to fit and have no issue with dirt or dust getting in.
Yes there's still a problem. Noticed my 19 did show some fine dust passing the air filter. I've now rectified the issue but it certainly needed addressing
