99.99999999999999% of the time my machine is running in Hi.

If I am trying to move something heavy I'll put it into Low.

It all depends if you need speed or power.

I use the clutch wet slug kit to lock it up sooner and save wear and tear on the clutch, but the trails I run are often tight and slow so I run in low quite a bit.
On gravel roads it's always in high.

The dealer officially told me that Yamaha says, use low range when driving slow, and anytime it is working hard and or climbing hills

My area has alot of hills, some very steep. In winter deep snow and in spring everything is flooded and turnes into a swamp. Also a good amount of tight twisty trails. I use Low range often enough, probably atleast 25% of the time.

I run mine in low when I know I'll be under approximately 15 mph for a long time. That can be quite often where I ride.

Of course I use low for plowing always.
