Hey there. I just picked up a 01 kodiak 400 4x4. It is really clean but the brake light switch keeps sticking. I adjusted the hand lever but whenever I use the brakes the taillight stays on and if I tap the switch it turns off. I have found switches but none look like what is in the machine. Can anyone tell me if this the factory one or a aftermarket? Thank you.

That looks totally aftermarket.

I had a 2000 Kodiak and it didn't come with a brake light, just a tail light.

Have you gone down to a Yamaha dealer and see if they list a switch for it?

I am looking to see if my Kodiak 40鈥 -2003 actually came with a brake light. I see no switch down at the foot brake master. If it didn鈥檛 can I add one. Also my foot brake peddle has a lot of side tires side movement. Are there bushings time replace or have I warn out the peddle and need to replace??

thanks for any help.
